Saving and Managing Searches
Updated August 2026
Why save searches
Saved searches are one of the most powerful features in PlanningIndex. When you save a search, PlanningIndex keeps it running in the background and automatically adds new matching applications to your results as they are submitted.
This means you do not need to manually search every day. Set up your saved searches once, and PlanningIndex monitors for you.
How to save a search
After running a search, click the "Save Search" button at the top of the results. Give your search a name — something that helps you remember what it is for, like "Loft conversions in Amersham" or "Window replacements within 15 miles."
- 1Configure your search with keywords, location, radius, and filters.
- 2Run the search to see your results.
- 3Click "Save Search" at the top of the results.
- 4Give your search a descriptive name.
- 5Click "Save".
Managing saved searches
To view, edit, or delete your saved searches, go to "Saved Searches" in the sidebar. You will see a list of all your saved searches, with the number of results for each one. Click any saved search to run it and see the latest results.
To edit a saved search, open it and modify the search criteria, then save it again. To delete a saved search, click the delete icon next to it.
Create separate saved searches for different trades or different areas. This gives you a clearer picture of each segment of your market.
